On November 2, 2021, Chairman Shan Yubing of Germany's CHOREN Industrietechnik GmbH attended the inaugural meeting of the German Mining Information Cooperation Center in Beijing. The establishment of the center shows that the "win-win" cooperation between China and Germany in the fields of mining, energy and raw materials is still very important and that the cooperation between the two countries will enter a new phase in the future. This will not only strengthen the foundation of past cooperation, such as the import and export of raw materials, the import and export of key equipment, the exchange of resource information and data, but also promote the rational use of carbon in the two countries in the future under the background of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality and lead to a deepening of cooperation in the fields of resources and technology, research and development in environmental protection.

The meeting was chaired online by Ms. Winkelmeier-Becker (Deputy Minister) State Secretary of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, China Coal Industry Association, China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Minmetals and Chemicals, the German Mining Machinery Association (VDMA Mining), the German Overseas Mining and Raw Materials Trade Association (FAB), representatives of important institutions in the field of mining industry in China and Germany, such as WVMetalle and the German-Chinese Center for Sustainable Development, attended the meeting and held keynote speeches and discussions, introducing the framework conditions, development and cooperation of the mining industry in China and Germany.

Experts at the meeting mentioned from different perspectives that under the new opportunity of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, the economic and market development of the two countries will successively enter a transformation, and the new green economic model will generate new resource requirements. Energy and new materials, environmental restoration when using the traditional ones and the need for new resources also require reasonable policies and technical means to ensure proper utilization and recycling.

During the meeting, Chairman Shan Yubing from CHOREN Company had a detailed exchange with Mr. Felizeter, Director of German Mining Information Cooperation Center, and Ms. Su Chuanrong, President of China Coal Industry Association. Coal will continue to play a major role in China's economic development in the fields of energy, chemical industry, raw materials, etc. in the next 20 to 30 years. At the same time, they will also discuss how Germany's advanced clean coal utilization technology can be used to improve efficiency, use domestic coal to realize high-end coal chemistry, and implement the promotion of carbon recovery and utilization technologies.
